Auction Rules & info

We invite all GV families and extended community to participate in our online Silent Auction for pre-bidding. Find us online or visit our showcase at GV in the Literacy Lab (Room 27) from March 1921, 2025.

Bidding opens on March 19, 2025 at 12:00pm. You must register an account here, on our SchoolAuction.net platform and vault a credit card to participate. For those attending the live event, your credit card will be linked to a bid number. All credit card information will be securely stored by SchoolAuction.net, and your credit card will only be charged if you make a purchase or place the winning bid. All credit card information will be purged after auction closing.

SILENT AUCTION

The Silent Auction opens for online pre-bidding on March 19, 2025 at 12:00pm, most categories will close on March 25, 2025 to transfer for paper bidding for the event, the Silent Auction will close March 29, 2025 at 9:15pm. The minimum bid amount for each item is posted. To be valid, bids must comply with these minimums. Placing a bid constitutes a legal contract to purchase that item at the price stated if your bid is the winning bid. The last (highest) valid bid entered prior to the silent auction closing will be the winning bid. (Teacher treat experiences are available for online bidding from March 19, 2025 - March 28, 2025 at 11:59:59pm!)

LIVE AUCTION

Bidders will hold up their bid number to signify their bids. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer will be the purchaser. The auctioneer will have the sole and final authority to determine the winning bidder. Bidders will be financially responsible for the use of their bid number. A winning bid may not be withdrawn.

If you are not attending the live event, but wish to bid on a Live Auction lot or item, please contact us at auctiongve@gmail.com about a proxy bid paddle.

GROUP PURCHASES

Group purchases are available for all Live and Silent Auction items. Please have one person place bids on behalf of the group and then once the item is won, let an auction volunteer know all names and bid numbers of the entire group to be recorded and entered for invoicing. Each member of the group will be charged for their portion and will see this on their invoice at check out.

CHECKOUT

Check out for the Live Auction begins at 9:15 pm on March 29, 2025 and not before. Due to processing considerations, early checkout is not possible.

PAYMENT

All items must be paid for in full upon date/time of close for both Silent and Live Auction by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or cash. Personal checks payable to the Green Valley Learning Fund are permissible, but a credit card vaulted in the SchoolAuction.net account profile of the check-writer is also required as back up.

ITEM PICK-UP

Dates/times/locations will vary. Buy-in Parties and Teacher Experiences will be coordinated via email post-Event. Many individual items are available as an online transfer, so winners will be emailed certificates and/or redemption instructions. Any items or lots on-site at the Event on March 29th must be removed from the premises, by the winning bidder, by the end of the evening. Green Valley Learning Fund is not responsible for items not removed. Some Silent Auction items will be available with a ‘Buy-it Now’ price and can be picked up on campus March 19 - 21. Please contact auctiongve@gmail.com to arrange pick up or delivery of oversized items.

TERMS OF SALE

All auction items have been donated by friends of Green Valley Elementary School, and may not be exchanged. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Unless otherwise specified, all auction items are sold “AS IS." The Green Valley Learning Fund has attempted to correctly describe all items; we make no warranties or representation of any kind with respect to items or services purchased. Unless otherwise noted, all Auction items and services must be used within one year of this event. Purchasers of vacation homes, dinners, group parties, etc. must follow the guidelines and time restrictions as noted on the item description or the certificate received. Purchasers of items from the Green Valley Learning Fund Auction assume all risk associated with the items and refunds or exchanges are not available. Additionally, some items may require additional costs associated with use such as gratuities, taxes, cleaning fees or deposits. Purchasers are responsible for the assumption of these fees where applicable. In determining the tax liability of items purchased at the Auction, no charitable contribution deduction is allowable except to the extent that the taxpayer can show that his/her payment exceeds the fair market value at retail of the item or service received. Rev. Rul. 67-345 and Rev. Proc. 90-22. The Green Valley Learning Fund represents that it is not providing tax, legal or accounting advice. Please consult your tax advisor.
